What is RSS?
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) allows you to see when websites have updated their content. RSS is a group of web feed formats that provide a means to serve users frequently updated content, and to share headlines and other web content. RSS delivers its information as an XML file called an "RSS feed", "webfeed", "RSS stream", or "RSS channel".
How Do I Use RSS?
You'll need a Feed Reader. It's a piece of software that checks the RSS feed and allows you to view any content thatÕs been added.
There are lots of different types of Feed Readers, including Newz Crawler, FeedDemon, Awasu, Newsfire, NetNewsWire, Web, Bloglines, NewsGator, My Yahoo!, and Mozilla Firefox. YouÕll need to find one that's compatible with your system.
Once you've got your Feed Reader, you need to go to the web page youÕd like to received a feed from, and click on the subscribe button (commonly the orange square with white stripes). To add the site into your Feed Reader, you may need to drag the URL it gives you into your Feed Reader. The site is now added to the list of sites your Feed Reader checks.
