Pilots: Gerald

Gerald, a six-piece, Brisbane-based ska band had been together for quite a few years before we met up and filmed this pilot episode back in 2002. With the group wearing their obligatory Gerald uniforms, Luke hosted the show at his parents’ house - complete with a fine selection of family photos adorning the walls. We were treated to five upbeat tunes, and some less than up-beat recipes!

Things in the kitchen didn’t go quite to plan. Dave’s dessert – although stunning in its presentation - was a disappointment to some members of the band.

Ben: “Is this it? You said it was, like, pretty and stuff.”

Adam: “Can we see that again in slow-mo cause I think people at home wouldn’t have caught how you made that.”

As for the mains... Ben and Adam’s first offering ended up in the compost bin: but what went so wrong that they were forced to take such drastic measures? Ben made a mad dash to the corner store for a new set of ingredients in an effort to redeem the dish. Meanwhile, Sarah and Jeremy were enjoying cocktails on the wide verandah.
