Direct from The Shed we present… Intercooler. When a band lives in an enormous shed with a newly built home studio and adjoining kitchen, it’s a perfect fit The Rock n Roll Cooking Show.

Phil, Darek, Joel and Damon set up their studio space in an intimate circle with just enough room to spread the drums and throw their guitars around. The slick and energetic performance with amps wound to 11 is enough to make one’s hair fly and head nod. As proven by Darek and Joel.

The band reckon they don’t have fat enough hands to become full-time TV chefs, but their food was good and tasty anyway. Thai style food… and banana custard… with some quiet Bloody Mary’s in the background.

When Darek-the-disorganized-genius took control of the entrée, it was clear that the energy of the songs would match the energy in the kitchen. His unorthodox method of blending fishcakes raised eyebrows amongst the band, but proved to be quite effective. None of the fish in the tank got hurt.

Damon contributed to the cooking by reading instructions, while Phil cleaned dishes – something he almost likes doing. He’s a rare gem, that Phil.

Upon serving, Joel contributed to the overall ambience of the occasion, serving up the fishcakes on the band’s best crockery.

Flaunting their high-income Brisbane rock-star lifestyle even further, Damon and Phil showed off the spoils with a look inside the fridge.

Joel showed off his Gary Busey badge and his Busification as he prepared the main of Bump Yum Gai, a hot and spicy Thai-style soup with red lava.

There was just enough gas in the bottle to get Phil through his old favourite - banana custard. Good thing the custard packet comes with instructions.

Joel thinks they might never have another dinner guest again. Don’t know about that, but Darek has 200 potatoes. Purportedly.
