Dubdoubt

Dubdoubt are as fresh and funky as their groove-based music. The dub is in doubt, but the funk-reggae is strong and the music is totally danceable!

Hayden met the Ruggles brothers in 2001, forming a three-piece hip-hop group, before giving the call out to his fellow Kiwi, Nic, who relocated to Brisbane to join the band. The band continued to grow, both musically… and in height. When the 12-8 horns (the tallest horn section in the country) joined up, the band was complete and the sunshine, scenery, and good times began for the trans-Tasman six piece!

Dubdoubt released their debut LP “ Sunshine and Scenery” in December 2006. It was described by Time Off magazine as Brisbane’s summer soundtrack, and proved popular with listeners on radio 4ZzZ, with Lucid voted as #31 in the station’s top 100 of 2006. Not bad for a December release!

The band also have four EPs under its belt, including 2005’s “What’s That Flavour” and have played loads of gigs up and down the east coast of Australia, including the Gold Coast leg of 2007’s Big Day Out.
